Our Team's Comprehensive Approach to Pediatric Thyroid and Endocrine Surgery

November 30, 2023 – While remaining relatively rare, Thyroid cancer is the most common form pediatric endocrine cancer, encompassing 6% of all pediatric cancers. Treatment doesn’t just start and end with surgery, Nicklaus Children's specialists and researchers are also examining the molecular makeup of thyroid carcinomas to better inform surgical techniques and treatment protocols.

November 30, 2023 – Nicklaus Children's Hospital offers comprehensive, multidisciplinary care for a complete spectrum of endocrine disorders for children from infancy through adolescence. They offer personalized care for children with diabetes, including medication, guidance for eating, learning, exercising, and playing. The team participates in innovative clinical trials and national research, specifically focusing on new approaches to care for Type 1 diabetes. They also ensure that families have all the tools and education necessary to manage diabetes at home. 

Diabetic children learn about nutrition and keeping healthy at Camp Roaring Sun

July 11, 2018 – Camp Roaring Sun, which began Monday and runs through Friday, allowed children ages 6 through 12 to take part in traditional camp activities such as swimming, playing outside, and going to a baseball game. All the activities are monitored by Nicklaus pediatric endocrinology nurses to ensure a safe and healthy environment.

November 07, 2017 – The Boynton Beach Care Center is the newest Nicklaus Children’s care location and offers a range of services for children from birth through 21 years of age.

New treatment labeled "a game changer" for patients with diabetes

November 03, 2017 – Nicklaus Children’s Palm Beach Gardens Outpatient Center kicked off National Diabetes Month by introducing a new treatment option for children with Type 1 diabetes, the Medtronic MiniMed 670G system, sometimes called an “artificial pancreas,” consistently measures blood sugar, predicts when a rise or fall is going to occur, and adjusts itself to deliver precise doses of insulin, requiring minimal interaction from the patient.
